Manisa Celal Bayar University Department of Civil Engineering, which started education in 1993, offers dual education as formal and secondary education. Our department has been continuing its education in 30% English since 2012-2013 period. Teaching and research activities in the department are carried out with academic staff in application and research laboratories with sufficient equipment. Our department accepts students with university entrance exam.
Since 2012-2013, the Double Major and Minor Program have been continuing with Department of Industrial Engineering. Our department aims to train leading engineers who are equipped in the technical field and who can produce solutions with rational methods. In addition to preparing our students for a successful business life with the curriculum we have prepared in accordance with the basic philosophy of providing perfect engineering education, we aim to train creative engineers who can produce new technologies that will meet the needs of society with innovative education and research programs.
As Manisa Celal Bayar University Department of Civil Engineering, we offer undergraduate and graduate programs and an understanding of close dialogue between educators and students has been adopted. After completing the first year courses in basic sciences, students are taught courses in applied mechanics, structural statics, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, civil materials, structural engineering and engineering management. In the Department of Civil Engineering; It is aimed to give basic knowledge and skills related to all kinds of building design, highway, airport, railway, tunnel and port design, dam, pond and irrigation channel and sewer design, bridge design and infrastructure examination of engineering structures. During the studies, it is recommended that students take part in applied and theoretical research as well as practical vocational education. The Master's program covers general current civil engineering topics with a thesis. The program focuses on computer-aided analysis and design, and aims to encourage undergraduate graduates to research and prepare them for doctoral programs.
Our graduates gain practical, experimental and analytical skills in engineering design and applications. At the same time, our students become civil engineers with sufficient equipment by using various equipment and computer software in laboratories for the solution of problems in the field of civil engineering. Upon completion of the Bachelor's degree, our students gain experience in basic knowledge and problem-solving abilities and develop themselves by having the technical, communication and personal skills necessary for life-cycle learning and career acquisition in fast-changing world conditions. Our graduates will be able to be researchers in their fields, open special project offices and work as construction site engineers. and also our graduates can work in various government organizations related to their fields.
With the "Workplace Practice Training" system passed since the 2016-2017 Fall Semester, our students will be much more ready for their professional lives by being in full-time workplaces for 1 semester after 7 semesters of education in the department.
